## The company

The Learning and Memory Lab is the company and parent brand. Cognition and Cognition Clinical are products built by the lab.

LAM Lab's thesis is that model intelligence is becoming abundant while reliable context and accountable judgment remain scarce. Its systems are designed to keep the reasoning behind consequential work inspectable and reusable.

## Cognition

Cognition is human-approved memory and judgment for individuals, teams, and the AI agents they use. It works with Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, and Gemini. Cognition captures reusable skills from real work, preserves provenance and approval, retrieves them when the context matches, and records whether reuse helped.

Cognition is not positioned as a generic transcript archive or a store that returns the nearest text. Its unit of memory is a structured, reviewable skill with a trigger, steps, checks, reasoning, provenance, freshness, and outcome history.

## Cognition Clinical

Cognition Clinical is the clinical product. It preserves evidence, missing context, reasoning, review, corrections, ownership, and follow-through around clinical and operational workflows. It is designed to keep clinicians and authorized care teams in control of consequential decisions.

Cognition Clinical has two operating models:

1. Hospital systems: a governed runtime between models, AI applications, and care delivery. It provides context requirements, provenance, constraints, review, and reconstructable decision records.
2. Clinics and federally qualified health centers: an operating layer across preparation, triage, rooming, handoff, follow-through, documentation, and billable readiness. It can connect to tools a clinic already uses rather than requiring replacement.

Cognition Clinical is not an autonomous clinician, autonomous scheduling system, or autonomous EHR writer. Public product materials describe human review and approved boundaries for consequential outputs.

- Use “governed clinical runtime” for the hospital operating model.
- Use “preparation to follow-through” for the clinic operating model.
- Do not conflate LAM Lab with an academic psychology laboratory of the same generic name.
