Why we exist
Powerful models can read, write, reason, and act. But they still enter consequential work without the lived context that makes an expert dependable: which evidence mattered, what was ruled out, what changed, and where confidence should stop.
We are building the connective tissue between intelligence and responsibility. Not a replacement for people. A way for their judgment to remain present as work moves faster and scales further than any one person can.
What we believe

Reasoning should survive the handoff between people, tools, teams, and time without becoming an uninspectable pile of chat history.
Evidence, boundaries, approvals, and ownership should be part of the system itself, not a policy document added after deployment.
How we got here
Joseph and Keshav first began building together as students who wanted to change how people learn. That question led them through neuroscience, biology, computer science, and the mathematics of memory.
Early work in brain computer interfaces made the lesson concrete. A signal is not useful because it exists. It is useful when its meaning is reliable enough to guide a real decision.
Modern AI can produce more intelligence than organizations can safely absorb. We began building the missing layer that preserves intent, corrections, evidence, and human approval.
Cognition helps individuals and organizations carry judgment across AI systems. Cognition Clinical applies that architecture where context, accountability, and continuity matter most.

A UNC Chancellor's Science Scholar who later studied computational learning at Carnegie Mellon's LearnLab. He leads product, clinical partnerships, and the lab's thesis.
